ESET Security Review

ESET provides a variety of plans available for Windows, macOS, Android and Linux. There’s a no-cost version that offers basic security. The higher priced plans include features like parental controls, password management and data encryption. The most expensive plan comes with a gaming mode that can prevent unauthorized access to your computer’s hardware when you play.

The program isn’t difficult to install and the setup is simple. It doesn’t bludgeon your computer with unnecessary software, as well. There are a few other settings, but the majority of the tools and features are available on the left-hand sidebar.

A brand new feature dubbed Connected Home Monitor is an efficient visual representation of your network and all the devices connected to it. It can be used to check your network for vulnerabilities such as open ports or weak passwords for routers.

A pop-up will appear each when you insert a USB device. You can decide to scan your drive immediately or have the program do so automatically, and should you choose not to run a full scan you can still perform an on-demand scan.

Advanced users will appreciate being able to choose how much of the suite is being scanned. You can set the number of files, folders and other items that the program will check. You can define how thoroughly the program should search archives, if you want to block certain types of files.
